The latest trend in computer monitors is the addition of curved displays.

There are a few different options available on the market when it comes to curved monitors.

There are 1000R, 1500R, and 1800R monitors.

But what are the differences between them? Are there any benefits to choosing one over the other?

Let’s look at the differences between 1000R vs 1500R vs 1800R curved monitors to see which one might be best for you.

Curved monitors are now available for all screen sizes but are especially popular in larger models.

The curved displays for a monitor are great for gaming and provide an extraordinary experience to the gamer.

What is the curvature of a monitor?

Unlike the flat monitor, the curved monitors are curved on the sides, and this remains equidistant from your eyes providing a wider field of view.

The curvature is the measure of how deep your monitor’s screen curves.

The curvature is measured as the radius of the circle formed considering the curvature of the monitor.

It is denoted by R, and the unit is measured in millimeters (mm).

What does R denote in a monitor?

R is the radius of the circle of which the curved monitor is a part. The more the radius(R) is, the lesser the curvature of the monitor and vice versa.

The curved monitors with slight curvature would not make a bigger difference in the viewing experience.

For example, a 1000R monitor looks more curved than a 1500R monitor. Similarly, the 1500R monitor looks more curved than the 1800R monitor.

This R is the Radius of Curvature of the monitor, which signifies the more the Radius(R) value is, the lesser the curved monitor is.

What is a 1000R Curved Monitor?

A 1000R curved monitor would complete a circle with a radius of 1000 mm, which is 1m or 3.28 ft.

The 1000R curved displays are noticeable and have visible curvature for the monitor.

What is a 1500R Curved Monitor?

The 1500R curved monitor curvature would form a complete circle with a radius of 1500mm or 1.5 m or 4.92 ft.

The circle that would form by 1500R is significantly bigger than 1000R, and the curvature is also less.

What is a 1800R Curved Monitor?

The 1800R curved monitor curvature would complete a circle of 1800mm or 1.8m or 5.9 ft.

For 1800R monitors, the circle would form with a radius of 1.8m which is significantly large and has lesser curvature for the monitor if you compare it with 1000R and 1500R monitors.

1000R vs 1500R vs 1800R: Which is better for Gaming?

As I compared the depth of 1000R, 1500R, and 1800R, here I found these displays to be excellent in terms of

  1. More immersive: With the curved monitors, you will feel closer to the action and watch the content better on display.
  2. Comfortable to Eyes: The curved monitor has a glare reduction that would reduce strain on your eyes, thus giving an excellent gaming experience.
  3. Larger Field of Vision: You will have a larger field of view with the curved monitor, and 1000R would have the largest field of vision in this case.

According to the comfort and excellent experience, you would feel better with the 1000R, then the 1500R, and the 1800R.

1000R monitors are great for gaming because they provide a clear, crisp picture that enhances the gaming experience with a more curved view than the 1500R and 1800R monitors.

The more you increase the radius(R), the curvature would be less.

Should You Upgrade to a 1000R Curved Monitor?

Curved monitors are becoming more and more popular, with 1000R curvature being the industry standard. But should you upgrade to a 1000R curved monitor?

The short answer is yes – if you can afford it.

Curved monitors provide a more immersive viewing experience, with less distortion around the edges of the screen. This makes them ideal for gaming and watching movies, as well as for general computing tasks.

Most curved monitors have a resolution of 1920×1080, which is Full HD. However, some models are now available with a resolution of 2560×1440 or WQHD.

If you can afford it, I recommend upgrading to one of these higher-resolution monitors.

The extra pixels will make your images and text look sharper and more detailed.

A 1000R monitor is an excellent investment for anyone looking for an immersive gaming experience.

The curved design wraps around your field of view, providing a more realistic and engaging gaming environment.

If you’re looking to upgrade your old monitor or are in the market for your first one, a 1000R is a great option.
